Frank Terry

Photographer

Frank Terry was raised in two cultures: Los Angeles and the Netherlands. From his mother, he gained a European sensibility, from his artist father came a strong work ethic. Frank first picked up a camera at the age of 12, documenting his friend's skateboarding. By high school, he was the publisher of a small but locally influential ‘zine, “the Rag.” Formal education in photography followed; after attending Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, he returned to LA.

The next years were spent assisting a host of talented fashion photographers, ranging from masters Helmut Newton and Deborah Turbeville to Terry Richardson and Hedi Slimane. Now out on his own, Frank counts top brands like Calvin Klein, Estée Lauder, Olay, Chanel and Tag Heuer among his Behind The Scenes clients. Appreciation for his cinematic imagery and signature lighting has created new opportunities for brand work & content creation with clients like Living Proof and Fossil. A portraitist at heart, Frank’s work has been seen in V and Nylon and he recently shot his first magazine cover for Darling Magazine. His work continues to evolve and new projects are on the horizon both in and outside of traditional BTS. Frank lives in LA’s Highland Park neighbourhood with his wife and two children.
